Looking for a fun way to spend an hour on a nice morning or afternoon? Grab a couple of pieces of bread and head to the Port Orange City Center to feed the turtles and birds. There is a paved walking trail that goes around a pond and you are sure to see lots of birds, turtles and more.
You can park at the Port Orange Library and walk across. Around the back of the City Center building there is an area with railings that is paved. If you just walk up to that area the turtles start popping their heads up from all around the pond and moving in toward you. They love to eat the bread that you break up and throw in there to them. You may even get a visit from an egret, some ibis, or an anhinga.
So save your left over bread and head to the Port Orange City Center. You can make good use of it and your kids will have a lot of fun along the way!
