Over a month ago I tried doing Zumba for the first time. Truth be told, I was lost through most of it. The
fast pace and unfamiliar moves sent my head spinning. But I enjoyed it enough to go back the following week and do it again. Now I've been doing it every Wednesday morning, and I must say that I love it!
Zumba is a "dance party" rather than just an exercise class. The music and moves are fun, it's fast paced, and you end up getting a great workout! I have been taking it at the Port Orange YMCA. I have taken classes there being taught by Yanna, Patti, Lulu, Tammy, Susan, and others. I have also taken it at through the YMCA held at the New Smyrna City Gym, taught by Jennifer and Sara. We have some great local Zumba instructors!
Everyone should be able to find a local Zumba class to go to, because Zumba classes are offered throughout Volusia County. Some are through the YMCA, while there are many other Zumba classes offered outside the YMCA. There are even Zumba Gold classes for senoirs and Zumbatonic classes for kids.
Give Zumba a try and see what you think. You can find a list of other local Zumba classes around town right here.
