2011 Holiday and Christmas Events - Volusia County, Daytona Beach, Port Orange

Ah, it's that time of year again... time to hang the lights, decorate the tree, heat up the hot cocoa,Tree
and attend some festive events. If you are looking for 2011 holiday and Christmas events around Volusia County (and beyond), you can find them here.

Beyond Volusia County:
You can find all the Nights of Lights events that take place in St. Augustine here. They offer wonderful trolley rides to see the lights, Santa train tours, winter wonderland, and so much more! Gingerbread Magic Display
November 12 - December 24
The gingerbread display will be at the Volusia Mall. It will be open Monday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m. For more info, visit their site here.

6th Annual Festival of the Trees
November 17 - December 4
The Museum of Arts and Sciences, located in Daytona Beach, will be holding their annual festival of the trees. It is a celebration of Christmas trees and holiday decorations, where they display 25 large designer Christmas trees. On December 3rd, Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit the festival from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will also be elves that day, serving juice and cookies. Stetson Mansion Christmas Tours
November 15 - January 7
There will be Christmas Tours of the Stetson Mansion, taking place in DeLand. The cost is $17 per person (one free child per paid adult). Tours are around 1 hour and 45 minutes long. Day and evening tours are available. For times and to reserve a spot, call 386-490-2054, or visit their site here.

Breakfast with Santa
November 19 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The Chick-fil-A at the Volusia Mall will be holding a free breakfast with Santa, for kids ages 10 and under. Space is limited you need to reserve a spot to attend here.

Fall Festival
November 19, starting at 6:00 p.m.
The Seventh Day Adventist Chruch, located at 401 N. Williamson Blvd. in Daytona Beach, will be holding a fall festival that will feature bounce houses, hay rides, bonfire, games, cake walk, and more! This is a free vent.

Holidays at the Beach
November 23 - January 8
Weekdays noon to 10 p.m., weekends 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
There will be holidays at the beach activities, including ice skating, right at the ocean! Oceanfront ice skating on real ice! This will be at the Daytona Beach Bandshell. For more info, call 386-258-9544.

Thanksgiving Gifts
November 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Ponce Inlet Light Station will be holding a family Thanksgiving gift day, where the family can do activities and make Christmas ornaments to take home. This is included with the regular admission price of $5 for adults and children 12 and over, and $1.50 for children under 12.

Santa Visits Canal Street in New Smyrna Beach
Multiple dates from November 25 - December 17
Santa will be on Canal Street, located in New Smyrna Beach, visiting children on a variety of dates and times, from November 25th through December 17th. You can get the latest schedule by visiting the site here.

Christmas on Canal Street

Light Up Flagler Avenue
December 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
There will be a light up Flagler Avenue event to be held in New Smyrna Beach. There will be entertainment, carolers, light displays, etc.

Holly Hill Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
December 2 at 5:30 p.m.
Holly Hill will hold their tree lighting ceremony on the steps of City Hall. There will be seasonal music performed by area children.

"Dashing Through the Snow" Performance
December 2 - 11
The Little Theatre of New Smyrna will be putting on the holiday comedy show. For more information on times and ticket prices, visit their site here.

Christmas Gala Holiday Lighting Opening Ceremony
December 2-4, times vary
The Casements, located in Ormond Beach, will be holding weekend activities. Friday night will be the opening lighting ceremony from 7-9 p.m., then Saturday from 9-5 and Sunday from 12-5 there will be a gala with crafts, an outdoor cafe, festive music, Santa, and more. The Casements is located at 24 Riverside Dr.

Holly Hill Christmas Parade
December 3 at 10:00 a.m.
The Holly Hill Christmas Parade will take place from 15th Street to 10th Street down to Ridgewood Ave.

Christmas Parade and Boat Parade
December 3, begins at 4:00 p.m.
There will be a Christmas parade and boat parade from Flagler Avenue to Canal Street, in New Smyrna Beach, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

63rd Annual Jaycee's Christmas Parade
December 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
There will be a parade in DeLand that will run south on Woodland Blvd. to Hubbard Ave. For more info, call 386-216-2814.

Tree Lighting Ceremony
December 3 at 6:30 p.m.
The City of Port Orange will be holding their annual tree lighting ceremony starting at 6:30 p.m. There will be a choir and seasonal music. Santa will also be there. The event will be held at at the City Center.

Port Orange Christmas Parade
December 4 at 2:00 p.m.
The City of Port Orange will hold its 34th annual Christmas parade. It will start at Nova Road, with the parade route running east to Dunlawton Avenue to Orange Avenue.

Song of the Coast Chorus
December 4 at 3:30 p.m.
Celebrate the holidays, Florida-style with the acapella harmonies of the Song of the Coast Chorus, Volusia County‚Äôs only Sweet Adeline Chorus. Song of the Coast will present a fun and family-friendly holiday concert on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at St. James Episcopal Church, 44 S Halifax Drive, Ormond Beach at 3:30 p.m. Doors open at 3 p.m.; donation is $10 at the door. Journey Through Christmas
December 7 - 10
The Volusia County Baptist Church, lcoated at 261 South Orange Avenue in Orange City, will be holding a special "Journey Through Christmas" event. It features a live outdoor drama consisting of 16 scenes and more than 100 actors and live animals. Doors open at 6:00 pm. and tours depart every 5 minutes, beginning 6:30 p.m., through 8:30 p.m.

Movies on the Halifax
December 9 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
There will be a family movie shown, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Rockefeller Gardens in Ormond Beach. It is a double feature night with both "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Elf" playing back to back. Bring a lawn chair and blanket. Refreshments are available for a fee. The address is 25 Riverside Drive in Ormond Beach.

Daytona Christmas
December 9-11
The First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach is holding a Daytona Christmas program from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, visit their site here.

Christmas Bazaar
December 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Coronado Community United Methodist Church, located at 201 S. Peninsula Ave. in New Smyrna Beach, will be holding a Christmas Bazaar in the fellowship hall. There will be handcrafted gifts, including wreaths, centerpieces, homemade jellies, aprons, and more.

Breakfast with Santa
December 10 from 8:00 a.m. to noon
There will be a breakfast with Santa held in DeLand. Tickets are $7 for children and adults. It is recommended for kids ages 10 and under. Spaces are limited, arrive early to get your tickets. Santa Run & Toy Drive
December 10 at 6:00 p.m
There will be a run/walk charity event and toy drive for "Toys for Tots" taking place on Flagler Avenue in New Smyrna Beach. Dress in holiday attire.

St. Johns River Boat Parade
December 10 at 6:00 p.m.
There will be a river boat parade on the St. Johns River. The public is invited to attend. The parade will leave from Catfish Bend north of Whitehair Bridge (Highway 44) and end in Lake Beresford. For more info, call 386-801-5685.

Nutcracker Ballet
December 10 and 11 at 2:00 p.m.

Samsula Tractor Parade
December 10 at 3:00 p.m.
This tractor parade begins at the lodge and the route travels south to State Road 44. For more information, visit this site.

Walk Through Bethlehem
December 10 and 11
Cross Roads will offer a walk through Bethlehem. This is a free Christmas event for the whole family. You will experience Bethlehem the night Jesus was born. Tours are 30 minutes long, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This is at Cross Roads at 1851 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. in Daytona Beach.

Holidays at The Casements
December 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
There will be an evening of Christmas music performed in the Rockefeller Gardens. For more information, call 386-676-3216.

"Christmas Greetings" Musical
December 15 starting at 6:30 p.m.
"Christmas Greetings" will be presented by the students of Indigo Christian Jr Academy.  "Christmas Greetings" is a musical celebration of the birth of Christ. Admission is FREE! Cookie reception to follow performance! Held at 401 N. Williamson Blvd. in Daytona Beach.

Walk Through Bethlehem
December 16-18
Cross Roads will offer a walk through Bethlehem. This is a free Christmas event for the whole family. You will experience Bethlehem the night Jesus was born. Tours are 30 minutes long, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This is at Cross Roads at 1851 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. in Daytona Beach.

"Miracle on 34th Street"
December 16 at 7:00 p.m.
This holiday stage performance will be performed at the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit their site here.

Special Populations Winter Holiday Party
December 16 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
There wil be a holiday party for those with special needs held at the Nova Community Center, at 440 N. Nova Rd. in Ormond Beach. The party will feature a DJ, dancing, visit from Santa, photos, and more. The fee to attend is $5. For more information, call 386-676-3252.

Breakfast with Santa
December 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
There will be a breakfast with Santa event held at The Casements in Ormond Beach. There is a $5 charge. There will be three seatings and reservations are requried, by calling 386-676-3216.

Drive Through Bethlehem
December 21-23 from 6-9 p.m.
Load up the car and head to Daytona Beach Drive in Christian Church to literally "drive through Bethlehem"!  Enjoy some of the sights and sounds of the city from the comfort of your car while listening to the Scriptural account of the Christmas story on your car radio.  Live animals and actors help bring the scenes to life right in front of you and your family.

Holiday Activities
December 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
