Ormond Beach Art in the Park, Saturday May 5^th & Sunday May 6th

Details: The 40^th Annual Art in the Park will consist of over 100 vendors displaying their arts & crafts,
providing musical entertainment, and offering a variety of food!  A free Kids Zone craft area will be located inside the Casements. 

 

Education Jobs Event – A Florida Teacher Certification, Tuesday May 8th

Details: A pre-festival whiskey tasting event will take place Friday, May 18^th 5:00pm-6:30pm at Billy’s Tap Room and a 7pm concert at the Ormond Beach Performing Art Center. Saturday & Sunday will be filled with live music on 3 stages, Highland games, Clan Encampment, food, activities for kids, and other exhibitors.  The Rosie O’Grady Pipe and Drum Corps will perform.

New Program for Homeschoolers in Port Orange

The Port Orange Library is now offering a book club for those who homeschool. The book club, called
"Homeschools Information Literacy Book Club," is open to those in grades 2-5. it meets every Thursday morning in May 2012, at 11:30 a.m. They will learn how to use the library resource materials, including maps, the dictionary, magazines, Internet, etc.

The focus of this group is to develop basic library and research skills. Participants will need to pick up a copy of "The Case of the Three-Legged Buffalo" by Phyllys J. Perry, and should read two chapters per week, before attending the meeting.

Regisration is required and participation is limited. If you are intersted, call and reserve a spot at 386-322-5152.

 

Annual Waters Edge Community Garage Sale Scheduled for April 28, 2012

It's that time of year again... time for the annual Waters Edge Community Garage Sale! If you live in
the community, be sure to get your permit before setting up your sale (get it at the City Center in Port Orange). If you don't live in the community, plan to shop, shop, shop, and get some great bargains!

Waters Edge is located off Airport Road (off Williamson). It's by the Spruce Creek Middle School and Spruce Creek Fly-in. The community wide garage sale will be held on Saturday April 28, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to around 1:00 p.m. 

There will be many houses that participate in the sale. Just drive through the neighborhood that day and you should spot them (or follow the crowd). Lots of good deals...clothing, furnture, kid's toys, etc. See you there!
