This blog was started in November 2009, as a way to help provide family-related information to moms (and dads, grandparents, etc.) in the Daytona Beach and Volusia County area. Since that time, it has quickly grown! We have hundreds of posts, as well has thousands of people who use the site on a regular basis to find family-related information in the area. It also offers information on Daytona Beach area attractions.
VolusiaCountyMoms.com was started and is run by Jacqueline Bodnar, a local mom and award-winning professional writer. She is also a Florida Master Naturalist. Jacqueline is the owner of Bodnar Ink, a Port Orange-based professional writing service. She has had well over 2,000 articles published throughout the country in magazines, newspapers and on websites. She also has a vast array of professional writing experience that includes writing sales letters, press releases, Web and ad copy, and more.
Jacqueline, who is a Michigan native, moved to the area in 2006 with her husband and two children, after spending nearly a decade living in Las Vegas, where she graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science Studies (covering psychology, political science and history), as well as a Master of Professional Writing degree.
When she's not writing, Jacqueline enjoys cooking and baking, being at the beach, shelling, reading, nature walks, and traveling. She is also a treehugger and founder of the Daytona Beach Vegetarian Society.
