Daytona Beach Vegetarian Society Event for Kids

Daytona-Beach-Vegetarian-So (2)

The Daytona Beach Vegetarian Society is holding it's second annual "Kids Having Compassion" event on June 16, 2012. The event will be held at the Port Orange Library from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will be for children of all ages and will focus on teaching kids to treat animals with compassion and kindness.

There will be a short kid-focused movie, lots of vegan kid-friendly food (quesadillas, ice cream, muffins, soymilk, etc.), literature, prizes, and animal face painting. This is a free event! Bring the kids out and get them learning about having compassion for animals.  You do not need to be a vegetarian or vegan to attend this event. Just come with an open mind and an willingness to learn about vegetarianism and try some tasty vegan foods.

(Note: There won't be any bloody/gory pictures or movies, or anything like that. However, we will discuss ways we can help protect animals, which does include not eating them).
