Today we went down to the Canaveral National Seashore, which is a state park. There are several things you can do there, including take a picnic, nature hikes, and go to the beach. There is a short hike on a boardwalk that goes back to Turtle Mound, which is the largest shell mound in the state of Florida. There are also loads of butterflies back there on that walk, including many zebra longwing butterflies, which is the state butterfly.

So pack a lunch and take the short drive to Canaveral National Seashore. It's a great place to visit! Take the walk to Turtle Mound, check out the Eldora State House, take the half a mile long hike in the hammock, and visit the beach. It's a great way to spend an afternoon and it's only minutes away!
