Skate Parks in Volusia County - Port Orange, Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach
Have a child that likes to skate? You are in luck, there are some local skate parks you may want to check
out. The skate parks offer a great place for kids to skateboard, as well as ride their bike if they want to get fancy about it. As you probably know, kids should also use proper protection to help avoid injury (e.g., helmet, knee and elbow pads). In fact, it is likely a requirement of each of the skate facilities.
Some of these skate parks offer free lessons, some have certain hours dedicated to skating and biking, that you sign a waiver, and some charge a fee. Be sure to research the facility and regulations prior to heading over there.
Here are some skate parks throughout Volusia County:
Bethune Point Skatepark - Daytona Beach
New Smyrna Beach Skate Park - They offer free skate lessons every Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. You can get more info on the park here.
SFC Jericho (formerly the Stone Edge Skatepark) - This is located in South Daytona. This family friendly skate park is $5 to skate all day. It's a Christian-run skate park that is open to the public.
So, you may be wondering why some are listed as "skatepark" and others as "skate park." That is based on what the park name is. Some have it as one word, while others have it as two words.
