De Le Vega Restaurante in DeLand Review
A month or so ago I came across the fact that De Le Vega Restaurante in DeLand had a separate vegan menu, in addition to their regular menu. I was excited to try it! So today a friend and I met there for lunch for the first time. De Le Vega is located on Woodland Blvd in DeLand.
The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. It was a nice day, so we opted for the outside seating. My friend is vegan, but in addition to wanting vegan food I also wanted gluten free. I had called the day before and was told that only one item on their vegan menu was not gluten free (the aspiranas). Yay!
The vegan menu has a lot to choose from and it was a tough decision, but we both decided to go with the plantain enmolades, which are corn tortillas, filled with beans and plantains, topped with a sauce. It's served with a side of beans, rice, and pico. What a fancy looking dish that came to us! We both really liked it. They were really tasty, with a hint of sweetness in every bite from the plantains. Two thumbs up! The food was good, the menu was great, and the service was really good. The iced tea was also good (I'm an unsweet iced tea drinker, so this is a small thing that always matters to me).
Two thumbs up for De Le Vega in DeLand. Whether you are wanting to order off the vegan menu or their other one you are sure to find some great food there. I will be going back many more times so I can try the rest of the dishes on their vegan menu!
You can visit De Le Vega's website here and see their menus here. They also offer catering, so you may want to keep that in mind if you need it.
