People often contact Volusia County Moms looking for helpful resources in the Daytona Beach area, or throughout Volusia County. At times there are people in need of financial assistance, while others may need medical assistance. There are still others who contact VCM looking for things like help purchasing a bus pass to have transportation to work for a month, or free clothing for a family in need. No matter what type of helpful resources you need in the Daytona Beach area, they are available. 

Here are some helpful housing resources in Volusia County:

  • 211 United Way Directory - A great resource is to call is 2-1-1. They can help you find many different help and resourceful options in the community. 
  • Halifax Urban Ministries - They provide a variety of services to the Daytona Beach area, including homeless prevention and intervention, hot meals, a family shelter, homeless direct services, and more.
  • Star Family Shelter - They offer family shelter assistance in the Daytona Beach area.
  • Domestic Abuse Council - They provide help and resources to those in domestic abuse situations.
  • Family Renew - They do not offer emergency housing, they offer a transitional housing program for families.
  • Palmetto House - Offers transitional housing assistance.
  • Salvation Army - With locations in Daytona Beach, DeLand and Sanford, they offer emergency lodging for those who are homeless, with the first night being free, additional nights are $10 per night. They also offer veteran and drug treatment programs, and emergency financial assistance.
  • Outreach Community Care Network - They provide HIV testing and counseling, as well as emergency help with mortgage, rent, and utilities.
  • Mid-Florida Housing Partnership - They have several programs to help people with housing, including home buyer assistance, foreclosure counseling, credit score workshops, etc.
  • Catholic Charities - They help with emergency rent/utilities help.
  • The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia - They help with emergency housing, bill assistance, transitional housing, and more.
  • Compassion in Action - They provide help with obtaining baby items, including formula, diapers, etc.

 Additional helpful community resources serving Volusia County and beyond:

  • Foundation 37 - They are a local charity that helps with a variety of community needs. Submit your need request to the board and it will be reviewed.
  • Heart of Warship - They hold a free community garage sale on the last Saturday of every month. Everything at the yard sale is free. This takes place at 403 West Street in New Smyrna Beach.
  • Ball Parks 4 Him - This local charity provides sports scholarships for kids who need financial assistance with the fees.
  • The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia - They help with emergency bill assistance (utility bills).
  • Cloth diaper closet - They help provide people with cloth diapers.
  • Daytona Outreach Ministries - They provide assistance with clothing, meals, bus tickets, etc.
  • Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida - They provide free and low cost legal services.
  • Sophie's Circle - They offer pet food assistance in the county.
  • Lion's Club - They have an eyeglass program for those who may not be able to afford eyeglasses. Donate your used and unwanted ones or contact them about getting some if you are in need.
  • Chiles Academy - They are a school for pregnant and parenting teens, where they can earn their high school diploma. Located in Daytona Beach.
  • BetterHelp - This site provides mental health information, including information about therapy, and has a database to find good local therapists.
