Births happen every day in Volusia County, but not everyone has their picture in the paper for being the hospital's first birth of a New Year. That's an interesting fact about Amber Klarich, of Daytona Beach, that she will always have over most others. 

Amber was the first baby born at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, on New Year's Day in 1985. She was born at 5:09 a.m., weighing in at 7lbs, 2 ounces. 

"According to my mom, the lady that was due on New Year's had her child right before midnight, so she gave my mom the her robe she is wearing for her photographs," says Amber. "I was called Baby New Year by the staff."

Not only was Amber born at Halifax Health, but she's a fan of the hospital and chose to deliver her own children there as well. Her son Landon was born on May 29, 2010, and her son Jordan was born on July 13, 2015.

As we head into another New Year, we can only wonder who will be the first baby born on that day. And... will that baby grow up to be a Volusia County Moms fan?! Happy soon-to-be 31st birthday to Amber!
