Thai Mango in New Smyrna Beach - Restaurant Review
The ladies business group I am in met today at Thai Mango, which is located on Canal Street in New Smyrna Beach. I have never been there (although I had heard of it before), but the other two ladies I met with have been there. They are both big fans, so when one of them suggested it for today's lunch meeting I was interested in checking it out.
I ordered the lard na with tofu, while my friends ordered a shrimp dish, a fried rice dish, and a curry. I tried a bite of the vegetable fried rice, which was really good. Both of the other ladies enjoyed their meals. I really liked the lard na. The sauce and rice noodles were delicious, and the tofu was perfect. I love how it was crispy on the outside. I'm an unsweet tea drinker, so I had the tea. It was okay, not great (sorry, but I'm picky about my tea). The price was also not bad, with my bill be around $9.60 before tip.
The service was good (our waiter was Kayla), and the atmosphere is okay, kind of laid back and on the dimmer side (not a lot of natural light). They offer plenty of seating, including some large booths for bigger parties. They have a good menu that offers plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items to choose from. There is something for every taste. It's also located in one of my favorite areas of New Smyrna Beach. I'm a fan of Canal Street.
While my favorite Thai restaurant in the county remains being Thai Kitchen by Saowanee, I will say that the food at Thai Mango was good, and if I were meeting others again I would go back. If you are in the area or looking for a good Thai meal, you may want to check it out!
