East Central Rail Trail in Edgewater - A great place to bike and take a walk!
Have you checked out the East Central Rail Trail in Edgewater yet? The county recently put the finishing touches on this 4-mile stretch of paved trail. We did the whole trail, which was 8 miles round trip. It's a great place to take a family bike ride!
If you are taking I-95 to Edgewater, get off at the Edgewater exit and head east. You will see the yellow overpass that is says "Edgewater," which is part of the bike path. Turn south onto Cow Creek Rd and drive about a quarter of a mile, where you will see the trail parking lot on the right hand side. Starting there, the trail is four miles in length, leading all the way to Dale Street. It's a beautiful paved trail that leads through wooded areas, over the overpass (tough going up, but fun going down), and offers numerous resting stops with benches along the way. The path crosses over a couple of small road that had very little traffic going by. The end of the trail offers another parking lot at the Rotary, which is located off of the crossroads of Massey Ranch and W Park Ave.
We loved this trail and thought it was a great bike ride. It's a great trail for biking, taking a walk, running, etc. This trail will eventually extend even further.
