Today, we met friends (Keti and Cristiano) at Third Wave Cafe for lunch. Our friends suggested the place, and we were up for giving it a try. Third Wave Cafe is located at 204 Flagler Ave in New Smyrna Beach. I love this area of New Smyrna Beach, because it has so many great restaurants and shops!
Third Wave Cafe offers a small indoor dining area, as well as a larger garden patio dining area. Even though it was hot outside, we chose to sit in the garden patio dining area. Surprisingly, all of the shade and fans made it quite pleasant sitting there. I really like their garden patio dining area. For the dog lovers, they do allow leashed dogs to be on the patio, and they even provided a bowl of water for each dog that arrived (three in all while we were there).
You can get items from their breakfast menu anytime, and our friend did order the frittata from that section of the menu. My husband and I ordered the "dirt merchant" pizza, and the Third Wave Salad (minus the feta), and our friend ordered a pizza with basil. The guys ordered some draft beer, while I had the unsweet iced tea, and Keti ordered the coconut lemongrass iced tea. They have an extensive list of teas on their menu, and the tea was great (which is always important to me).
Although this place is known for it's crepes, we all thought the food was great! The pizza has balsamic on it and it was excellent. Our pizza also had kale on it, which is something I've not tried before. I really liked the unique flavor it created. The salad was so fresh and delicious! Our Italian friend thought the pizza was quite authentic, too. Everything here was excellent, including the food, the service (Lindsey was our waitress), and the atmosphere. The pizza my husband I ordered was $14 and we ordered the small size salad, which was $7. We shared both items and it was plenty of food for us both (we left very full). The pizzas have 8 slices. Our friend topped it off with some gelato (they have several flavors to choose from).
Two thumbs way up for Third Wave Cafe. We will definitely go back again!
