Your Holistic Health News - The Big Latch On
Hi mommas!
August is just a few days away. Back to school shopping will be in full swing and at Debbie’s Health Foods, and we want you to know that we have your family’s health needs covered. If you are not sure of your needs, you can schedule so we can go over nutritional needs and whether or not any supplements are necessary. I also offer help in the area of planning lunches. I am not too crazy about school lunches, so I do my best to help parents make affordable and nutritious school lunches.
When it comes to back to school, if you would like to enhance focus and attention span while in school. At Debbie’s we have products that have been studied and proven to help school aged children with these particular areas. Also, if you or someone you know has a child experiencing behavioral issues, or is Autistic, we can offer assistance in a few ways. I am the Holistic Nurse on staff at Debbie’s. I specialize in Pediatric Health and Wellness, and I see a lot of frustrated parents coming in wanting to help their child. If this sounds like you, please set up a consult with me. There is so much we can do that will make such a positive impact and difference on both the child’s life, and mom and dad’s life. We can go over everything from nutrition, supplements, to behavior modifications. Sometimes parents just like to know that there is support out there for them. I am here to tell you, there is.
Another big happening in August is World Breastfeeding Week August 1-7th. We love celebrating and supporting all mothers, so Saturday, August 6th, Debbie’s will be a vendor at the Global event called “The Big Latch On” . This event is hosted by some amazing volunteers at the Health Department on Holsonback Drive in Daytona Beach. There will be over 30 vendors there celebrating pregnancy and breastfeeding. Everyone is welcome! There will be a lot of great information and giveaways. Be sure to stop by the Debbie’s Health Foods table to get your free goodie bag and a chance to win a gift basket.
The really unique component of this event, is that there is a count down and at 10:30 all of the breastfeeding women breastfeed simultaneously, hence “the big latch on”. The babies that successfully latch on within 10 minutes of the start time are recorded in the event. Also, everyone who shows up, breastfeeding or not is recorded in the global total. Very exciting stuff! Last year there were a total of 14,889 babies breastfeeding simultaneously around the world, and a total of 36,502 in attendance. So, please come on out and support World Breastfeeding Week!
I hope everyone has had an amazing summer and enjoys the last couple weeks with the kids. Mine are heading to Philly to see their grandparents for their last two weeks. Time for me to try and get everything done that I am always saying I will when I have time :-) Come and say hi at Debbie's Health Foods and sign up for our FREE newsletter for weekly updates.
