Riverwalk Park is now open in Port Orange. I stopped by today to check it out. It's a $3.6 million project. Riverside Park offers a slpash pad, bathrooms, playground, paved walking area, grassy common area, covered picnic tables with grills, and a fishing pier. It's a great place for the kids to have some fun or to have a community event. The only thing missing are some benches near the river, so that people can sit and look at the water. There's a great paved area there near the river, but no benches around to sit and reflect and look at the water. The park is very nice and the little kids will especially have fun there. There is also a great area that offers kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals. There's a spot right there where you can launch them and cruise down the Halifax River. Very nice! Stop by and check it out.
