Kudos to "Cobra Kai" for a job well done! @cobrakai

In the summer of 1984, I stayed at my grandmother's house for a week. My grandparents let me bring my best friend along for the week, too. We were 13 years old, and "The Karate Kid" was playing in the theaters. My grandmother dropped my friend and I off at the mall and gave us money to go see the movie. We loved it! I can't tell you how many times over the years we have watched that movie, but it's been quite a few. Fast forward to me having my own children and we made sure to show them "The Karate Kid," too. They liked it as well.

Last week, my son told me that he was watching "Cobra Kai" on YouTube Red. He explained to me that it was a new series based on "The Karate Kid" original movie. I was immediately intrigued! You can watch the first two episodes for free, and after that you have to sign up for YouTube Red to see the other 8 episodes on the series. I told him I would sign up, but the whole family was going to watch it. Over the last three days this family has been glued to watching "Cobra Kai."

It has been years since I have been excited about a series. I gave up on watching television series when Lawrence Fishburn left CSI and when my beloved "Lie to Me" was canceled, both happening in 2011. Recently, we were excited to watch the new Roseanne series. We've been watching that every week, but we are not in love with it. It's okay. But "Cobra Kai" is a whole new story! We are excited about it and love it.

We finished watching season one of "Cobra Kai" this evening and we are already looking forward to season two next year. The series is well done. I won't give any spoilers here, but I love what they did with the characters, how they have incorporated some of the original movie into the series, and love what they have done with the story line. It's been a great series!

My kids are around the same age I was when I first saw the original movie. Now, we are all enjoying the new series. I love how they have made this something that multiple generations can share together. This is the best series I've seen in a long time. Well done and highly recommended for families to watch together! Check out "Cobra Kai" on YouTube Red.
