Evolve Modern Vegan Kitchen review

Evolve-vegan-kitchen

Daytona Beach recently got a new all vegan restaurant named Evolve Modern Vegan Kitchen, and today we checked it out!

Evolve Modern Vegan Kitchen is located at 318 Seabreeze in Daytona Beach. It's a nice little restaurant that has some cool decor and offers indoor and outdoor seating. There are tables and a bar that you can eat at inside, and you can go out back where there are numerous tables for outdoor dining. I love the decor that is up in the restaurant.

The menu is all vegan, which means that it is completely plant based (no animal products at all). It's a pretty big menu, so there is a lot to choose from. They have nachos, burgers, veggie dogs, mac and cheese bowls, bbq dishes, and more. Quite honestly, it's hard to pick what you want to order because there are so many choices. They also serve Mexican coke (no high fructose corn syrup, yay!) and beer on tap. My husband decided to get the Buffalo Chickun Sandwich, and I decided to get the Southern Fried Mac and Cheese Bowl. I ordered a Coke and my husband got a PBR draft. You place the order at the bar and then take a seat and they bring it to you when it's ready, so we took a seat up front, where we could look out the window.

The food arrived and looked really good! The mac and cheese bowl looked a little small, but it turned out to be a good amount of food for me. It wouldn't be enough for my husband though, so if he ever ordered it he would need to order something to go along with it. It was the perfect size for me though. I absolutely loved the vegan fried chickun that is on top of the mac and cheese bowl. It's crispy, delicious, and I love the smash sauce it's topped with. The mac and cheese was not bad, but not as good as my own vegan mac and cheese. Overall, I liked the dish and would order it again.

My husband loved the Buffalo Chickun Sandwich. I tasted a bite of it and it's spicy! He loved it and said he would certainly order it again. The sandwich has the crispy fried vegan chickun on a pretzel bun, along with slaw, pickles, mayo, etc. Great sandwich! It was served up with a few chips that he used to scoop up whatever fell off the sandwich as he was eating it. They also use eco friendly bowls and utensils, which I  love.

The service was good, the food was really good, and we liked the atmosphere. We will be back for sure! There are so many options to try that next time we'll try something else, even though we did like both of these dishes, too!

You don't need to be vegetarian or vegan to enjoy the food at this restaurant. It's good to expand your horizons and give it a try. If you are not used to eating food like this then it's something different. You never know, you may just love it! If you are not sure what to order ask the staff there for recommendations. They should be able to help you find something that you would be comfortable trying (or maybe you will be ready to venture a little out of your comfort zone to try something really different).

Our bill was $27, before tip, for the two of us to have lunch there.

We give Evolve Modern Vegan Kitchen in Daytona Beach two thumbs up!
