Book review: The Most Beautiful by Mayte Garcia

Beautiful

I grew up a Prince fan. His peak in popularity was during my childhood and my friends and I were fans. Big fans. I was there in the theater watching Purple Rain on the big screen when it first came out. My friend bought me the Purple Rain record that was made of purple vinyl for my birthday, which I still have saved today. So when I came across this book recently in the bookstore, I was intrigued.

"The Most Beautiful" is a book written by Mayte Garcia, who was Prince's first wife and one of his dancers. She had a 10-year relationship with the talented man, and she shares a lot about it in this book. The book shares about how they met, their relationship over the years, the death of their baby, struggles they had, and more. You learn more about his personality, and it was an interesting book to say the least.

This is a good book for anyone who is a Prince fan. It gives you a little insight into the mysterious man who's image was unique, and continues to live on today. If you are Prince fan, put "The Most Beautiful" on your list and give it a read, you won't be disappointed.

By the way, if you will be in Minnesota at any time, Prince's office space called Paisley Park is now open for tours. You can see the place he played and made music in, and have a bite to eat in the cafe (which is vegetarian, per Prince's wishes).

Prince may be gone, but he will not be forgotten anytime soon. His music, style, and impact he made on the world of music lives on. My daughter is now a Prince fan, so we are getting into a second generation of fans here!
