Additional School Info to Keep in Mind

Uniforms - In June 2021, the Volusia County School board announced that they are planning to change the school dress code to eliminate the uniform requirement. The process requires that they advertise it a few weeks before making it official. The official vote will take place on July 27, 2021. The plan is to vote to officially get rid of school uniform requirements on that date. You can read about the proposed dress code policy here.

Supply Lists - The school supply lists you see every year before school starts are generic, they are not specific to any teacher. Don't buy supplies from those lists or you will end up buying more than you need. Wait until meet the teacher day or the first day of class and you will get the information on what your kids really need. The teacher(s) will give them the list of what they need in each class at that time. You will save money this way and ensure your kids get the actual needed supplies, rather than a generic list.

Face Masks - The school board has voted to make face masks at school optional for everyone. As of 7/19/21, they messaged people that they are still sticking with the optional face mask policy at that point.
