INDOOR: Calling all shark lovers! In this classroom presentation, we will discuss the important role sharks have in the marine ecosystem and how we can help protect them. Participants can test their sense of smell to see how well they could find prey “hunting” like a shark. The participant with the best “sense” will win a prize.

INDOOR/OUTDOOR: National Moth Week kicks off July 23rd - July 31st! Let’s start the celebration off with learning about native plants that are important to butterflies and moths throughout all seasons. Join Steve Kintner, Vice President of West Volusia Audubon Society, in the LEC pollinator garden as he discusses different types of moth attracting plants that do well in our area. Participants will receive a free native plant for attending this in person program.

INDOOR/VIRTUAL: Stop by the LEC for an introduction to one of the largest and most beautiful silk moths, the Polyphemus Moth. “Moth-ers” of all ages are invited to join us for this fun program where we will discuss fun facts and how you can help this species by becoming a Citizen Scientist.
