Families in Volusia County who have pools will want to know about this event!
Volusia County is helping to improve water safety for those who have a pool and also have children. They will be giving away free alarms on June 28, 2024, starting at 9 am. The door and window alarms will be given away at one of six area library locations. The alarms will sound when a door or window opens, and the pool alarms are activated when something disturbs the surface of the water.
Households can get one of each type of alarm for free.
You will need to show proof of residency. Stop into one of the libraries to get yours, while supplies last. Places to pick them up include:
- Deltona Regional Library, 2150 Eustace Ave.
- Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St.
- Daytona Beach Regional Library, 105 Jackie Robinson Parkway
- DeLand Regional Library, 130 E. Howry Ave.
- New Smyrna Beach Regional Library, 1001 S. Dixie Freeway
- Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle
Volusia County is offering these as a way to help protect children from drowning.
