Our Traffic
Volusia County Moms was started in November 2009, and since that time the traffic to it has rapidly been increasing, as has the number of people that follow the site has grown. According to Google Analytics, for the year spanning from August 1, 2018 through July 31, 2019, the VCM website had over 1.1 million page views. That's a lot of chances to get your information in front of your target market. And with our active site, you don't need to have information in one or two months ahead of time.
In addition to the blog traffic, the VCM Facebook page has become an integrated community of moms. The monthly Facebook reach ranges from 25,000-75,000 people per week, depending on what is posted. There are over 36,000 people who follow the Facebook page, and there is a high percentage of people who are engaged.
Volusia County Moms has become the place where moms go to know... about everything! It's the most popular local resource for family friendly information. Plus, it's completely local. Volusia County Moms is not a franchise (as other types of similar sites often are). It's completely original, created and maintained by a local mom. VCM is completely locally owned and operated and is not a franchise of a national company.

Why Online Advertising
Unlike magazines, we can get information out to our readers immediately. Advertising on this site has a big advantage over print advertising (e.g., magazines, newspapers), in that consumers can access it 24/7 and the information is current. We can offer more information, keep it updated in real time, and are accessible to the readers where and when they want the info. Magazines typically have a 6-8 week lead time, while we can get information posted nearly immediately and keep it fresh. This site offers an ongoing and updated events calendar that keeps people coming back, looking for family friendly events in and throughout the Daytona Beach area.
People who read magazines tend to look through it once and toss it, whereas this site remains a trusted place that they can come back to at any time during the month. No waiting for the next issue to come out. Magazines have a short shelf life. In fact, their readership has been drastically declining over the years, while the amount of time people spend online looking for information has been drastically increasing. Adults are online nearly all of the time. They give very little time to reading a magazine, which is then trashed, recycled (hopefully), or essentially lost. Weekly newspapers delivered to homes that didn't ask for them typically get washed down the drains or immediately picked up from the driveway and tossed into the trash can.
When people want information about local events and opportunities, they go online. Think about it, what do you do when you want local information? Do you go online, or do you go looking for a magazine or a driveway newspaper? Plus, online advertising costs a fraction of what it costs to advertise in print. Why? Because of the overhead. It's becoming increasingly more expensive to print and distribute magazines and newspapers, but the overhead to have the information online is cost effective. It saves paper and resources, as well as money in your advertising budget. Not only are you spending your advertising dollars in a more effective way with online advertising, thus increasing your ROI, but you are also making a decision that is better for the planet and ensures you will be where the people are when they go looking for the information.
