Providence Academy, LLC is an educational farm in Ormond Beach. They are offering a series of seven classes this school- year. Our mission is to utilize a high motivational, holistic platform to teach STEAM concepts, while instilling an appreciation and sustainability in agriculture. We are also offering a limited number of adult only evening classes for a chance to get out into the country and nourish your body and soul while Providence Pastures pampers you- farmhouse style! Invite your people or come on out and meet new ones. The grounds of the farm are strictly for happy thoughts and smiles for everyone both big and small! While COVID-19 is a serious concern in our nation, we still believe in getting outdoors enjoying the company of others and God's beautiful creation. Our events are designed with your safety in mind. Our events provide an environment suitable for social distancing, open outdoor spaces, and hand washing/ sanitation stations.
We are excited to announce that Providence Academy's upcoming classes, Painting in the Pasture, is only one week away! This will be the first time that we will offer two uniquely designed classes, "Painting in the Pasture STEAM K-12" and "Painting in the Pasture- Adult only", on two different days for students in grades K-12 and for adults of all ages respectively.
"Painting in the Pasture STEAM for K-12" is a unique class that incorporates standardized learning concepts into five, grade- appropriate, teacher-led stations. Please see the attached flyer for the details of each station for our upcoming class. Each student will receive an 11x14 stretched canvas with wood frame, appropriate acrylic paint and brushes, and easel to use while painting. This event is on Friday, January 22 from 10 am to 12 pm with lunch from 12 pm to 1 pm and is $15 per participating student. Reservations are required by texting or emailing Sarah Barnier with the names and grades of participants and your payment through Zelle or Paypal no later than 1/20/21. Parents or guardians must remain on the premises in designated areas. Lunch is not provided, so please pack one to picnic on the farm. Bring paint- safe clothing or a smock if desired.
"Painting in the Pasture- Adult only" will give adults the opportunity to step back into a slower-paced time, relax at one of the garden side tables, and take a deep breath of fresh farm air with the aroma of our hot herb tea blends and savory horderves. Then, watch the jersey cows graze carelessly in the pasture and you delve into your inner creativity in our guided painting experience. Each adult will receive a 16x20 stretched canvas with wood frame, appropriate acrylic paint and brushes, and easel to use while painting, as well as food and drinks. Make it a date night, a girls night, fellowship with old friends or meet some new ones. Leave your stress behind and return home healthier, happier, and refreshed! This event is on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 4:30 pm and is $20 per person. Reservations are required by texting Sarah Barnier with the names of participants and your payment through Zelle or Paypal no later than 1/20/21.
Reserverations are required and space is limited. Each child receives a packet based on his or her grade and they rotate through the stations in small grade-based groups. There are teachers at each station to lead activities! I can take 50 per session and can start a new session if there is enough interest. There are 5 amazing stations that incorporate the core academic areas, as well as, agriculture, biology, culinary arts, and fine arts. Each child will get to try homemade ice cream at the Farm to Table and paint a cow with acrylics on a pre sketched 11x14 canvas in the Painting station that they can bring home! Classes are from 10am to 12pm, and students can bring a bagged lunch to picnic afterwards. Please arrive no later than 9:45 am to check in and sign waiver.
Our goal is to get families outdoors, appreciate nature, and feel joy and fulfillment.
